KIMOTO GLASS TOKYO was founded in 1931 in Asakusa, Tokyo. This historic manufacturer collaborates with handmade glass workshops in Tokyo's traditional downtown areas, Edo kiriko artisans, designers, and creators to pioneer new possibilities in glassware design and craftsmanship.

Their flagship collection consists of five popular glass types: Hana (華), Sou (爽), Jun (醇), Nagomi (和), and Miyabi (雅).

It goes without saying that changing vessels according to what you eat and drink allows you to enjoy the synergistic effects of both elements. This five-glass lineup perfectly maximizes that enjoyment potential.

Today, we introduce these five sake vessel types crafted by this established Tokyo-based manufacturer.

The Five Glass Collection

Hana (華)

A glass with excellent compatibility with elegant daiginjo and sweet-and-sour sake profiles.

Sou (爽)

A glass suited for sparkling and ginjo sake, as well as other refreshing chilled sake types.

Jun (醇)

A glass designed for complex, deep-aged sake that you want to savor slowly over time.

Nagomi (和)

An all-purpose glass that covers most sake profiles and suits any occasion.

Miyabi (雅)

A glass optimal for genshu (undiluted sake) and umami-concentrated sake styles like yamahai and kimoto.

The Art of "Tripling"

KIMOTO GLASS TOKYO promotes what they call "tripling" - combining sake, cuisine, and vessels together, expanding upon the concept of pairing to create an enhanced drinking experience through the proper vessel selection.
