Story
Founded in 1875 in Nikata, Kamo-gun (present-day Kure City), which flourished as a military port in the Meiji era and is known as the birthplace of Hiroshima sake. The company pioneered the industry's shift to the production of sake with special classification (Tokuteimeishoshu) in the 1980s, and in 1999 installed large refrigerators to ensure that all sake is kept cold. The brewery has been focusing on high-end sake since its inception. Hiroshima sake is famous for its "rich umami" taste, but due to the quality of the ultra-soft water from the granite soil "UGO NO TSUKI" has established itself as a more refreshing, elegant, and light sake. The young brewers of Hiroshima sake are now making remarkable progress, and the brewery is a leader of Hiroshima's sake brewing industry, and is affectionately called "Aniki" (Japanese for brother) by the other breweries.
