Founded in 1868. With a concept of “Brewing Happiness”, this brewery aims to spread happiness for their customers through their sake. They mill all their rice in-house, use flat rice polishing and microbubble rice washing to maximize the flavor of the rice. Starting with their flagship brand “Takachiyo”, named with the hope of “being loved by the customers and aging with them forever and ever”, they offer 6 brands of sake. These include “Houjunmujin Takachiyo”, fruity sake to attract young sake enthusiasts, “59Takachiyo”, perfect for sake beginners with modern style, “Shin Takachiyo”, known for its low alcohol content (12%) and fruitiness ideal for day drinking, “Koryu”, alcohol-added sake aimed to enrich everyday meals, and “Makihata”, made with rice exclusively from Minami-Uonuma—one of the most famous rice-producing regions and the location of the brewery—, and themed around the new era of agriculture.
